Need your cat advice.

Off the rabbit topic for a minute. We have had a cat living in our backyard for about 2 months now. He is ssooo sweet! We don't think he belongs to anyone, we put up flyer's and no one called. We were feeding him when it was really cold out, but not anymore, he has mice. We named him Max.

We have 2 problems with Max:

1. He is upsetting our indoor male cat, who is now peeing all over the house. (Already took indoor cat to vet, it's behavioral.).

2. Max has worms and both ears are infected.

Max belonged to someone, he is not feral. I can pick him up and do just about anything to him. I clean his ears. He is so playful. I know we should take him to a shelter, but there are already so many unwanted cats at shelters; I also don't want to take him to a shelter when he is sick. What to do...

Here he is on our table on the back porch.

Boy I'm glad you showed the picture .. that is not our Max! Now we both have outside Maxs.

Yes, what a dilema. Maybe NOAH?

The main thing is to check and see if he's neutered, which I'm assuming he is. The big decision is whether to take him to the vet and get him well and then release him again or to take him to the shelter. Although, people do advertise on Freecycle, giving away free pets. It's a difficult decision and whatever you do don't feel guilty about it. You didn't create the mess, you're just there to make his life a little easier. You have support whatever you chose. I've been there myself.

Rabbit's Guy, yes Noah. Or I was thinking of the cat only one in Anacortes; but I need to check them out first.

PJ-I have read that most animals given away for free are neglected or tortured (cults). So that is not an option. I would love to take him to the vet but we have no extra money right now. He is neutered.

Cat's Meow I think it is called ... way down by the Guemes Channel... It's just a house - with a little sign if I remember right. Nice for cats there.

Any updates on Max the cat? How is Gerald doing with his chronic URI? Have Bambi and Cinnamin become permanant house rabbits? Will Gerald and Clint be moving in as well? Stay tuned...
