I need a computer geek!

Help! I can't get the pictures off my camera!!! And I have a really cute one of Cinnamon I want to share with you. When I insert the plug into my camera (the other end is always plugged into the computer USB that I never remove) the computer tells me "USB device not recognized." Worked just fine 2 weeks ago, and for the last year for that matter, so why now. I have unplugged, restarted, turned on/off to no avail. I MUST get the pics off my camera!!!

Oh and I hate Microsoft and Dell. Just incase you all were wondering. Someday I want to get a MAC!

Did you check the software that came with the camera?

Bummer. First, the obvious! - any little teethy marks on the cord????

Here is what I know to try. Unplug the usb end from the computer and retart your computer. wiggle the end in the camera real good - maybe plug and unplug a few times. Then plug in the usb end into your computer.

If absolutely all fails I will bring my Dazzle multi-card reader over Wed evening and transfer your pix .. a temp fix.

Meanwhile maybe someone else has an idea.

Sorry, we don't know how to help. We just take the little memory thingy out of our camera and plug it directly into the CF hole in our computer. (And ours is a HP - we love it!)

OK. I will have to find my manual for the camera. Will check for teeth marks too. Thanks everyone.

No help whatsoever, but i'm reminded of when we took in a rabbit that appeared in our front yard years ago. Not knowing anything about rabbits, I let him get used to the house while I looked into care and feeding. Within 30 minutes every cord and cable in my office had been given a very elegant and disabling CHOMP...Rabbitproofing 101 :)
